My Dear, This is the first article in our column in the Micron-Ita site. The aim of this space is to discuss current issues and examine possible solutions through the sharing of ideas. We started talking about the competitiveness of our country. Economic activity is stagnant, seemingly controlled inflation remains a latent worry, our leaders focused on the very short term without a growth plan, it should go through investment in infrastructure and education rather than actions that seek the electoral immediacy. What is the way forward is the question we ask ourselves every day. Two factors are key to our competitiveness Firstly the regulation, that is, the economy can not depend on informal activities that do not generate taxes and benefits for the whole society. Taxes must have a distributed load intelligently in order to promote the development of markets and not inhibit their growth. Labor laws are responsible for the well being of workers, but may not be so bureaucratic and put obstacles for businesses. Productivity also is critical to leverage and promote economic growth. One can not imagine a country with low productivity and hence high cost of production, trying to occupy a prominent position on the world stage. A good part of Brazilian companies are productive of "port-in", ie they seek excellence in its operations, but ran into lack of infrastructure, the huge and poorly distributed tax burden and excessive bureaucracy that involves all processes business. Others, especially small and medium enterprises, in addition to the obstacles created by government ineptitude, lack an improvement in their operations to become more productive. Productivity is based on the operational excellence of small, medium and large businesses and this is the key step for us to have a competitive Brazil. We will not stick to what should be done so we can have a country whose legislation is modern and forward for competitiveness and development. However, it is an analysis of what we need to do to constantly strive for excellence in our manufacturing operations and always improve competitiveness. So one question is necessary What is fundamental to continuous improvement in our business processes? The answer is Knowledge Management. No formal education time replaced the experience and practice as a source of learning. Productivity is only achieved if we are able to perform our work based on concepts and theories. Ie gradually Capital, land and labor give way to knowledge as the main means of production and manual workers who do what they're told, open space for professionals with high autonomy, with discipline and responsibility in performing any task . Thus, it is expected that the professional that develops your knowledge will have an increasing employability and increasing market value, for their contribution to companies will be of high value. If we seek Productivity and Competitiveness, we have to rely on knowledge workers. But today in our country we see a lack of education that means that we have a shortage, growing, technicians in various fields. How then, encarrar this duality, because we need skilled professionals and we face such educational deprivation The solution is a short-term action, in which business leaders must create organizations that focus on development and Knowledge Management, as they are professionals They should seek sources of knowledge, internal and external to their companies, in various fields and disseminate them within their structures. In the long run, these same leaders through Associations, Federations representing their industry should interact with the universities in the pursuit of enriching the curriculum of their courses to meet their future needs in order to achieve and always improve Productivity and Competitiveness. This will be achieved not only based on the information that such centers of knowledge can pass to future professionals, but mainly on training based on knowledge. By: Lairton Leonardi
